Interesting Fact: Did you know that garam masala loosely translates to ‘warm spice’? The word ‘garam’ means ‘heat’ but this doesn’t indicate that the spices contained in the blend are hot, but that they have a warming/heating effect on the body when eaten, masala means ‘spice’.

SUGGESTED USE

Garam masala works well with meat and vegetables, add as a base to create your own curry blend and build on it adding chilli for heat, cardamom for additional spicy sweetness, the choice is yours. You can add the blend to savoury breads, soups and sauces. Why not make your own curried beans? Simply fry off some finely chopped onion, add garam masala to your taste, pour in a tin of baked beans and add a few sultanas and simmer over a low heat until cooked, serve as part of a main meal or use to top a jacket potato for a warming lunch. The blend can also be used as a condiment and sprinkled on to your finished dish just before serving as a seasoning.
