Ingredients

455g Dried haricot beans soaked overnight
1 Onion chopped
4 Garlic cloves minced
120g Molasses
120g Ketchup
2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
1420ml Water
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 150C. Drain the soaked navy beans and add them to a large pot with the chopped onion, minced garlic, molasses, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, barbecue spice blend, salt, and pepper.

Add enough water to cover the beans by about an inch and stir to combine all the ingredients. Bring the pot to a simmer over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes.

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and cover it with a lid or foil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 4 hours, stirring occasionally and adding more water if needed, until the beans are tender, and the sauce has thickened.

Remove the baking dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
