Description: Our size 0 Gelatine Capsules, also known as Gel Caps, Gelcaps and SoftGel Caps are made of gelatine derived from animal collagen, they can be used to make supplements filled with herb or vitamin powders, dried herbs, liquids or other medications. Each pack contains 1,000 capsules.
Approximate Dimensions & Volume of Size 0: Vol 0.67ml, Locked Length of Capsule 21.7mm, External Diameter 7.65mm. Each capsule will hold between 400mg – 800mg of powder.
Interesting Fact: Did you know that the first recorded patent for a gelatine capsule occurred in France and was made by two Frenchmen Messiers Du Blanc and Mothes? The patent was granted on the 25th March 1834; Du Blanc was a French pharmacist and F Mothes, a young pharmacy student. It was Mothes who actually ‘invented’ the capsule but at the time of presenting the patent he was too young to receive his diploma in pharmacy, so he became associated with Du Blanc in order to present the patent.
SUGGESTED USE
Separate both halves of the capsule and fill one half of the capsule with your chosen filling material. Press the unfilled half of the capsule in to the filled half and place the completed capsule in a suitable container and store in a cool, dark place.
