Product: Fajita Spice

Description: Our Fajita Spice is an authentic blend of garlic granules, minced onion, oregano, allspice berries, chilli powder, cinnamon, mustard, nutmeg and sea salt, all ground together to give you a deliciously spicy seasoning mix for creating the perfect fajita! The seasoning can also be used as a rub for poultry and meat, a marinade or added to Mexican style breads, dips and sauces. The blend works with meat, poultry, ‘meaty’ fish such as monkfish and vegetables.

Interesting Fact: Mexican cuisine is a mix fusion of South American cooking styles fused with European flavours, and is influenced by the cuisine of Spain, and has been since the Spanish arrived in South America in the 16th century, there are regional variations and dishes and different spices are favoured in each different region. The fajita comes from a style of Mexican cooking known as Tex-Mex a style of cooking that is popular in Texas which is influenced by Mexican cuisine, the word fajita is said to mean ‘little belt’ which described the cut of steak originally used, as well as meat, the filling is usually made with peppers and onion, seasoned with garlic, chillies, oregano and other spices and served with salsa.

Ingredients: Garlic Granules, Minced Onion, Oregano, Allspice Berries, Chilli Powder, Cinnamon, Mustard, Nutmeg and Sea Salt.

Allergy Advice: This product contains the allergen mustard, and also chilli and black pepper which contain naturally occurring sources of salicylates and are best avoided by people eating a salicylate free diet.

SUGGESTED USE

This tasty blend of classic spices used in Mexican cuisine can be used in a variety of ways, as a dry rub or wet marinade it adds flavour to fish, meat and vegetables. Sprinkle it lightly over freshly popped corn to make a tasty spicy savoury snack, or sprinkle over potato wedges or homemade crisps. Add to minced chicken, turkey or pork with a little chopped onion to make your own fajita style burgers. Mix into salad dressings or low fat yogurt to make marinades, dips or toppings for baked potatoes, salads, grilled/baked fish and roasts.

Shelf Life

Shelf life of two years provided that goods are stored in an airtight container in ambient conditions.
