Description: Our rosemary and garlic salt contains three ingredients used by cooks around the world which can enhance the flavour of savoury dishes on their own, teamed together they add an aromatic twist to your meals. Fragrant rosemary, pungent garlic and coarse ground sea salt combine to make the perfect seasoning for your cooking as well as a condiment for the table. This salt goes well with Mediterranean styles of cuisine and is particular tasty with lamb dishes. It is used in stews and soups to give a real depth of flavour and is an essential addition to any store cupboard.
Interesting Fact: Did you know that in folklore, rosemary has many connections with? In Shakespeare’s 'Hamlet', Ophelia speaks of the long-held belief in rosemary’s power to aid remembrance when she says, ‘There's rosemary, that's for remembrance.’ Ancient Roman mourners at funerals threw rosemary into the grave of the deceased as a symbol of remembrance, and rosemary has been consumed in the diet, burnt as incense and even the oil has been rubbed on the head to help boost memory.
Ingredients: A blend of coarse sea salt and the finely chopped Rosmarinus officinalis and Allium sativum.
Allergy Advice: This product contains rosemary which contains a naturally occurring source of salicylates and is best avoided by people eating a salicylate free diet and those people following a low sodium diet.
SUGGESTED USERosemary & Garlic salt can be used as a condiment to season meals in place of plain salt; this aromatic blend will add delightful fragrant notes to all your meals, it works well as a seasoning for all cuisine types. Use as a delicious rub or as part of a marinade for meat, poultry, fish and vegetables. Use to season joints and potatoes prior to roasting, add to breadcrumb coatings, stir into couscous and grains, sprinkle on cooked vegetables, pasta and salads. Rosemary and garlic salt can also add a delicious extra savoury flavour to homemade bread; just substitute rosemary and garlic salt for the plain sea salt that a recipe calls for, it can also be sprinkled as a topping on breads such as focaccia.
Shelf life of two years provided that goods are stored in an airtight container in ambient conditions.
